The Water Agreement between Singapore and Malaysia

The Malaysian government and the NEAC have got it all wrong! They are also carried away with the idea that by repeating untruths and fiction related to the "water issue between Singapore and Malaysia" in advertisements and in printed media, these "facts" will eventually be accepted as truth and reality.

Good luck to them. History and the examination of documented evidence will show up the Malaysian government for what they truly are - incompetent fools and liars.

You can judge for yourself by reading the 2 different views on record. Of course only one side of the story is true, and one wonders why Malaysia tends to avoid debate on the facts and the substance of the actual agreement, but chooses to confuse the uninformed by harping on the "fairness" of a previously agreed upon price for water, and putting forth fuzzy arguments on "subsidizing the cost of water to Singapore" :-

Malaysian fantasy from NEAC

The facts from Singapore

The views from "The Void Deck"

Note that Malaysia has not at any time contributed to the cost of producing or processing any of the water that Singapore pays Malaysia for, at the agreed rate of 3sen per 1000 gallons. The dams, water-works, pumps and pipes that supply water to Singapore were built, maintained, operated and paid for by Singapore. Therefore, how can Malaysia argue that they are subsidizing Singapore for the cost of water?

In addition, the NEAC and the Malaysian government have problems reading and understanding agreements in English. Perhaps their mastery and comprehension of the English language is suspect, since they are educated mainly in Malay?
