Puppy alert!
The JR pups are now one week old and 2 of them were caught sneaking out of their pen last night even when their eyes are not yet open. Looks like they are trying to explore the wide open spaces even though they still cannot see where they are going. Maybe the pups are going by just feel and smell.

The boy pup is also planning to escape from the pen, and is practising "looking over the wall" (with eyes still closed).

Today in my email, had an enquiry from someone who lives in Melbourne, Australia about
petai. In case you do not know what this is, here is a photo of
petai which is taken from the
FRIM website.

Did not know that the scientific name for
petai is
Parkia sp. Hassk, and is therefore related to bean-type trees such as
Parkia javanica which is known locally as the Kupang tree, and also to
Parkia filicoidea (the African locust bean, or Nitta tree) whose beans are used for animal feed.

More dog family pictures showing Venus just after the exhausting delivery of her 4 puppies and of Hugo the pups' father (caged and behind bars for being naughty).

The puppies are just back from the vet with their tails docked. Venus sure looks relieved that the pups are none the worse after their harrowing ordeal. For now the pups are just hungry and more interested in feeding.
4 new Jack Russell puppies were born 2 days ago, and here
are their first photos with their eyes still closed; they are 3 girls and a boy! If the boy is a "jack" then are the girls Jill Russells?

These are the individual photos of the pups after docking their tails on Saturday evening. Most of them have diamonds on their heads, and they have either one black spot on the side or next to the tail, and there is one with 2 black spots on the back.

Feeding time with their mother "Venus". Notice that their puppy tails are still there, as this photo was taken on Friday.
