Deaths: 28
Total Probable Cases: 205*
Total under Home Quarantine Orders: 803
*includes 1 case who died from non-SARs causes

There are still no new SARS probable cases today (since 27th April). The IMH cluster that was under close observation recently is confirmed not to be SARS after all, but some form of flu instead.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
Although there are lots of things that we don't know about this disease yet, there is still hope on the horizon as we are starting to see progress made in a few countries, with the proper controls and measures in place.

Singapore has declared war on SARS. No resources have been spared, and special teams have been mobilised immediately, as soon as the disease was detected in March here in Singapore. This is the secret of our success here in regulating SARS, and is something that other countries such as Malaysia, China, HK and Taiwan have been trying to emulate, but are finding it difficult to do so because of various political and other reasons.
With the SARS epidemic scaring everyone out of their wits and forcing most Singaporeans to stay at home (especially those who have to do so after they are issued with "Home Quarantine Orders"), here is an excellent suggestion for what to do at home.
