Looks like all hope is lost for peace, and the bombing of Iraq by USA will begin soon. My prediction is that the first cruise missiles will be launched in 1-2 weeks time, and the invasion by US and British troops will start soon after.
Email from organizers of "Vote No War" for today's demo
at the White House and in 2 cities in California (LA and San Francisco):-
Buses and caravans from over 100 cities to converge on Washington, D.C. for the
Emergency Convergence on the White House. We Can Stop the War
"Conventional wisdom" concluded that the war on Iraq would have taken place months ago but such "wisdom" has been thrown out the window by the unprecedented anti-war uprising of the people of the world. Established power is shaking from one part of the planet to another, as people have shown a united opposition to unprovoked war. Bush and Blair, unable to contend with world-wide opposition to their war plans, are scrambling at the United Nations to find support and cover for their plans to attack Iraq. They can still be stopped. We must take advantage of every moment left to intensify the pressure.
We hope that you will get on the bus. If you can't come to the demonstration we hope that you will make it possible for others to come.
....
Too bad we are not allowed to demonstrate in Singapore too.Rain, snow, sleet or freezing cold, tens of thousands of people are coming to Washington, D.C. this Saturday. Luckily the weather forecast calls for a balmy 58 under partly sunny skies. We know that VoteNoWar members will be participating in large numbers, both in the D.C. march and in the coinciding actions in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
